DESIGN This was a great way to get familiar with Photoshop's video editing capabilities. The video was a little dull and dark so I added adjustment layers to make the colors more interesting. I also noticed that the original video used the rule of thirds, so no cropping was necessary.
PHOTOSHOP To create this cinemagraph, I first trimmed the video to be one cycle of the rotation so it looped well. After this, I made a copy of the video and rasterized it to turn it into an image. Then, I used a layer mask to reveal the blades I wanted to keep in motion. My last step was to add adjustment layers to change the tone and mood of the piece. I used levels, brightness/contrast, and hue/saturation to achieve this effect.
