DESIGN The idea from this came from a double exposure photo on a class website of a girl and a forest that was done using luminosity masking. I knew I wanted to try my hand at this and learn more about masking layers. I played with the opacity of my masks using grays to retain the details, like the woman's collarbone.
PHOTOSHOP I used luminosity masking to put the galaxy behind the woman and used double exposure to have the galaxy show through on her skin. I used several level adjustment layers to change the tonality and contrast. I masked the dress out of the adjustment layers and created a new layer just to change the color of her dress to be more unified with the tonality of the piece.
